Evaluation Question 7
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Our first preliminary task went very badly. We didn't really know how to use the equipment properly so that made our film rubbish. It was blurry and out of focus, the lighting was very dark so you could barely see anything. The microphone was switched off so you could only hear the audio from the camera which was very quiet. We also left it to the last minute meaning our editing was very rushed and poor.
We have learnt a lot from then and have made a lot of progress. I feel we have learnt how to use the equipment and how to do simple things like hold a steady shot. We have also learnt how to use Premier Pro and how to edit.
I am fairly pleased with out final product and think that we have done as well as we could of.

Evaluation Question 6
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
To create out film, we used a camera, tripod and Premier Pro. We decided to not have any dialogue in our film so a microphone was not needed. We struggled with using Premier Pro and a camera because they were very new to us. We struggled most with Premier Pro because it is fairly hard to use.

We had to use YouTube to upload our film to. I know how to use YouTube and are very familiar with it, so this part was fine for me to do.
A massive part of the course was using Blogger. This is a website that I had never heard of before. I found it hard to use at first but as I used it more and more, it became easier.

Evaluation Question 5
How did you attract/address your audience?
We attracted our audience by using a true story for our film. We based it on the documentary of Issie Sagawa. The documentary talks about his life and what he did. This interested our audience. We advertised our film to our friends using a variety of social media, emails and word of mouth. Social Media has been a big part in attracting our audience to our film.

Evaluations Question 4
Who would be the audience for your media product?
Female:
I would go and watch the film in the cinema because it looks exiting. I like how it has lots of enigmas. It is scary but also very alluring. It makes you want to watch it until the end. I love how it is based on the documentary 'Issei Sagawa'. This interests me more and makes me want to go and watch it more. I can not wait until the film is finished.
Male:
I would go and watch their film in the cinema because it is a horror and that is a genre that I enjoy watching. I like how the film is scary but also very interesting. I really like how it is based off of a true story and based on a real man who committed these very real, horrible crimes.

We asked everyone in our whole class who would go and watch our film or this genre in the cinema and everyone said they would.
We have made our film for anyone. But if it were to go into a cinema I think mostly younger people ages 15-30 would go and watch it.

Our film, represents women as vulnerable and week. This is how most Horror films represent the female character.
Our film represents the man character as dominant and strong.
There isn't really any social groups on our film because there are only two characters that we can see and they don't know each other.

Evaluation Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Our film that we have created is a Horror film. We haven't challenged the forms and conventions a lot as our film follows the basic stereotypes of a Horror or Thriller film. It is stereotypical because we have a vulnerable Girl who is killed by a man. This is what happens in most Horror Films.
We researched Horror films similar to our ides and came up with a order of titles that we were happy with.
We started with The director, the two main characters, who filmed it, who edited it, who did the sound and then the Producer.
Film Feedback
Female:
Film the out of focus parts again.
The sound effects when the shots of the pigs happen work well with the theme.
The story line is very good and I like the fact its based on true events.
Put a relatable soundtrack over the top.
Male:
Nice high angle shots.
Good past pace editing when needed.
Can hear noises such as the camera and tripod moving.
You need to get the characters personality across better.

Visit from Rob Jones
Last week, Rob Jones who is a photographer, director and short film maker who owns the company Flock 92 Productions, came into our media lesson. He watched the ruff cut of our film and gave us some feedback. He said that we needed to represent our characters better. He told us we could do this by using more shots of our characters faces and more shots of them doings things that represent them. Such as talking on the phone or seeing friends.
